Refractory fiber and cement laminated thermocouple protection tubes are used for molten Zinc and Aluminum die casting operations. Refractory thermocouple protection tubes are also very popular for hot dipped galvanizing applications. Refractory Thermocouple Protection Tubes have a maximum service temperature of 1500°F (818°C) and will not shatter or contaminate the melt. Refractory thermocouple tubes are available in three configurations: as plain protection tubes, protection tubes with a Type K Thermocouple Element in side and a floating tube with a Thermocouple element included.

Refractory fiber and cement laminates thermocouple protection tubes have a maximum service temperature of 1500°F (815°C). The tips of the thermocouple tubes are made from silicon carbide to increase the temperature response time. These Refractory tubes are commonly used in molten Zinc and Aluminum die casting applications. Refractory tubes will not shatter like ceramic tubes. They also will not contaminate the molten metal as a stainless steel or iron protection tube could. All 20K4RP30-* protection tubes have a 20 Gauge Type K thermocouple element already installed in side the tube.

Floating refractory tube | with Thermocouple

Refractory Floats are ideal for hand lading applications. Floating refractory thermocouple tubes will will read the temperature 3” below the molten metal surface. A silicon carbide tip gives them a very fast temperature response time. All 20K4FT-* and 20K4DFT-* protection tubes have a single or dual 20 Gauge Type K thermocouple element already installed in side the tube.
