D5 Weather Vane

Richards D5 Type Wind Direction Vanes

Richards D5-1263-1 Wind Direction Vanes

The Richards D5-1263-1 Wind Direction Vane was specifically designed for high wind speeds in harsh environments. All D5 wind vane components are manufactured from Stainless Steel for maximum strenth and corrosion resistance. The vane hub, shaft tower, instrument housing, counter weight, and base are all CNC machined from solid Stainless Steel bar stock.

The D5 wind direction vane utilizes a robust Stainless Steel welded vane, which rotates on two precision grade, shielded, stainless steel ball bearings. These bearings can be replaced in minutes on site without disconnecting the sensor cable or the sensor from its mounting.

The D5 wind direction vane has a 10K potientiometer element which creates an analog DC voltage output signal for directional degrees. These high quality potentiometers have a life expectancy of 50 million revolutions or 4-6 years of normal operation.

All Richards D5 Wind Direction Vanes have our quick connect mounting system. This allows the sensor to be easily adjusted to True North during the initial installation or removed in seconds if required. Wind vanes can also be ordered with an optional 3/4" Male NPT Thread mount.
