The Richards D5H-1263-1 Heated Wind Direction Vane was specifically designed for high wind speeds in harsh winter environments. The D5H has all the great features of the standard D5 wind vane but also has a powerful internal heater to prevent the bearings from freezeing in winter conditions.

All D5H wind vane components are manufactured from Stainless Steel for maximum strength and corrosion resistance. The vane hub, shaft tower, instrument housing, counter weight, and base are all CNC machined from solid Stainless Steel bar stock.

The D5H wind direction vane utilizes a robust Stainless Steel welded vane, which rotates on two precision grade, shielded, stainless steel ball bearings. The vane is welded to the shaft to keep it secure even in high winds.

The D5H wind direction vane has a 10K potientiometer element which creates an analog DC voltage output signal for directional degrees. These high quality potentiometers have a life expectancy of 50 million revolutions or 4-6 years of normal operation.
